ABUJA, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Nigeria is pumping 1.67 million barrels of oil and condensates per day, compared with just under a million barrels some months ago, due to security improvements in the producing Niger-Delta region, the head of the state-oil firm NNPC said on Friday. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/nigeria-pumping-167-million-bpd-oil-condensates-per-day-nnpc-head-2023-09-01/#:~:text=ABUJA%2C%20Sept%201%20(Reuters),firm%20NNPC%20said%20on%20Friday. 8 Likes 4 Shares

Ok. Hope they do something tangible with the proceeds. Naira is so sick and worthless right now. As if we've never been an import dependent nation since the return of democracy in 1999 when our naira was super strong and the crude export was at its lowest ebb. Only the gullible minds and blind followers of these thieves in power would think the weakening of naira was solely because we export less. That's the song they always sing into their ears and they're not smart enough to ask if our economy was in same shambles in less than a decade ago. An accountant general stole over 100bn naira , the equivalent amount needed by ASUU to fix our university education nationwide. The guy managed to return a fraction and they let him alone. What of the excesses of national assembly and the elephant projects they borrowed hugely to finance, which we're using most of our earnings to service? They'd never talk about all these but about how Nigeria import more and export less as the reason for the naira's free fall. Only God knows how many likes of the accountant general do we have out there who have stolen so much. When you have bad leaders in government, dishing out bad economic policies, headed by novices who were only favoured politically with that position, we should expect what we're suffering today. Naira is now the worst currency in Africa, it won that medal recently. Are we the only country importing more and exporting less? If this isn't madness,.i wonder what it is. 4 Likes 1 Share |

This oil is the single reason for the existence of this contraption called Nigeria. The thieves called politicians will fight tooth and nail to ensure this failed country continue to exist so that they can continue to sell oil and divert the money for their greedy use. How long the citizens will continue to tolerate this slavery will determine when all this will come to an end. Doesn't matter how long, its gonna come to an end someday. 2 Likes 1 Share |
