Gunmen suspected to be Tiv militias have killed a young man, Lemuel Mzungwega Gbajime, one week to his wedding in Benue State, Reports.

The Benue State University graduate, was set to tie the knot with his bride, Agnes, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Makurdi.

He was brutally murdered by the assailants along the Chito-Zaki Biam road on August 25, 2023.

A former school mate, Ayati Orlu Bem Ayati, in a Facebook post on Saturday, said the deceased ran into the assailants while on the way to his village in Chito, Ukum Local Government Area to inform his people about his upcoming wedding.

I was surprised when someone from Benue told me that most of the killings there are not done by Fulanis but by ethnic militias fe Benue fighting a never-ending war of reprisals.
