For non regular cars, don't bank on whatever quote you get here. Until you actually start the clearing, you can't say for sure how much it will cost. So 6 or 11m, none is correct.

For regular cars, they can easily give you a quote based on past experiences.

Most importantly, why can't they just use the actual cost of the vehicle if they must use USD. You will buy a vehicle on auction at 1,950 dollars. Customs will tell you the value is 9000 USD

I bought a car at 800usd, I paid 3.1m as clearing. I bought another one at 4kusd am asked to bring almost 8m for clearing. These cars were bought before the crazy rates started, otherwise I will not have even tried it. Just a decision of a single individual called Mr president resulted to premium losses to some of us. However God dey we go survive!

Honestly we don't and it's because there are lots of japa people selling their used cars, when that itinerary get dwindled then everyone go Sabi say na heavy duty vehicle hit us in this country in the person of Tinubu. The least they could have done is to adjust the duty tariff so that the FX impact does not change the clearing cost by over 80% within 3weeks. That wasn't enough now they have introduced charges by trim....more money. It's a very insensitive govt!

I hear they even released new rate of 783 from 770 yesterday. This will translate to an additional 50-300k on clearing costs depending on the vehicle.
