Nigeria Judiciary always contradicting itself grin grin
PEPC already said it's a pre-election matter and cannot stand.. So, the LP guy will appeal the judgment, then reference the "precedent" set by those faceless Justices..

Nigeria Judges are indeed confused, imagine pre-election matter that tribunal said cannot be used as a basis for disqualification, also looking at the conclusion of judgement, it a party affairs. According to the tribunal judges in as much as one is not a member of the political party, you can not challenge the cardidacy of the party. It is an internal affairs.
Nigerians which way are we going?
Even the judges are confused with the current constitution.

The Justice A.M. Abubakar-led panel nullified the election for non qualification of the declared winner of the election, Nnamchi to contest the election.

The Tribunal held that Nnamchi was not a member of the Labour Party (LP) when he contested the election, and in line with electoral laws cannot be a candidate in the election.

It held Nnamchi was not duly sponsored and qualified to contest the election under the Labour Party’s candidacy.

O pari

Nigerians can see the bizarre contradictions in the decisions of our courts. Two days ago, the Court of Appeal dismissed Tinubu's objection to Obi participating in the last election on ground that he was not a member of LP at the date of nomination. The Court of Appeal said Tinubu cannot bring such matter in a election petition, that it is a pre election matter that only members of a political party can bring. Today a member of House of Rep is sacked on the same ground that he isn't a member of LP on the date of the primary. Contradictions and contradictions. Same thing happened in Delta where Elumelu was returned elected by the tribunal which disqualified LP member elect on ground of not being a member of the party.

Just Appeal the judgment that is all.
Court of Appeal will throw away that rubbish judgment that is apparently bought like a meat pie. Just play the decision in Obi vs Tinubu where they dismissed Tinubu's case that Obi isn't a member of LP and cannot be sponsored by LP.

I warned of this happening during the last election but I was labeled a corn lover.

When people don't read but rely on vibe and social media trend, this is the result. Most people that contested under the labor party jump in on the bandwagon of Peter Obi without following due process

I dont really understand Nigeria electoral laws.

Why is this judgement opposing the presidential judgement.

For the presidential judgement, a petition was struck out because the petitioner is not a member of the party and the petition is about intra party matter.

But this one is also intra party, why is this being used?
Law is very irregular. It is becoming clear

I think he is going to scale the membership hurdle on appeal. If he really didn't resign as a lecturer before the poll,i don't see him surviving.

Basiru Bello Auki, a Zamfara PDP State House of Assembly member was sacked for been a Staff of Bungudu LGA Council and he didn't resign.

It is a Constitutional matter.

Dennis Agbo, a fellow House of Reps member in the same Enugu was also exonerated yesterday by this same panel based on membership issues.

Without prejudice to the way it will swing at the higher Court, this is different.

The main crux of the matter is that Prof Nnamchi is a lecturer at UNN (a public Institution) and didn't resign from the Institution.

I think the UNN VC testified that Prof didn't resign. So, Prof must prove that he, indeed, resigned from the Institution.

Story for the gods..... Let him go on appeal so that the ruling would be dismissed on the ground that it's a pre-election matter. Ike Nike and his family cannot continue to hold on to Nike people's mandate.
