I hope you're aware that UNN is a project of FGN and not that of Eastern region?
And if you talk of Industrial estates, the oldest, biggest, most vibrant and still functional till today are all in SW e.g Ogba/Oba-Akran/Ikeja, Ilupeju, Apapa (Lagos state), Agbara/Shagamu/Ota in Ogun and Oluyole/Sanyo/Eleyele etc in Oyo state
Lmao my school too?

Unn was a project of the eastern Region headed by Akpabio uncle of Godswill ... With campuses in calabar(unical) medical school , Enugu(Unec) lawyer and port Harcourt engineering plus the main campus in Nsukka

Unn was built and funded by the essence regions till 1967 ... Go get your facts

For industrial layouts m.. Otta that started by obj? Lmao

Eastern Region had calabar, emene/9th mile, Aba, trans amadi . . ..

You're a big liar. UNN & Unilag were established by the Fed Govt of Nigeria. Google can help you out. Only UI, Ibadan (built by the colonial masters with Western Region wealth), University of Ife (now OAU) and ABU were owned by the regional government.

As for your mushroom industrial parks, go and check their establishment dates, it was long after Awolowo built many in SW . How many of them are functioning today like that of SW?

The minorities suffered in the hands of the Igbo necessitating the Anglo Cameroonians to join their rather strange French cousins instead of remaining in English speaking Nigeria.
Is that what you were told in your community meeting? If you go back help me educate them that the Cameroonian had legislative and administrative autonomy in 1954 before referendum. Use this opportunity to get some education too.

Same reason eastern Nigeria built a university before Nigeria

Had industrial parks before Nigeria

While some regions were doing feel good projects without any single chance of profitability

Other regions were building it's people strategically,

We know which regions had most registered businesses and cars
Una too dey lie..

Eastern Nigeria had almost next to nothing when we were under regionalism. Records don’t lie. This is one of the reasons Azikwe wasn’t interested in governing the eastern region. It was a super empty region..

Regarding the school, UNN, it was an FG project..

The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe[5] in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960, the University of Nigeria has three campuses in Enugu State–Nsukka, Enugu, and Ituku-Ozalla – and the Aba campus in Abia State.

A law to establish a university in the Eastern Region of Nigeria was passed on 18 May 1955.

Regional government.. regions held their leaders accountable unlike the Igbos that left East to other parts of Nigeria looking for people to dominate and become lord over.

Till date, they can't subdue the much superior Yoruba race and it has been a big burden and headache for them.

We already had skyscraper (Cocoa house) in Ibadan when Igbos didn't have a single storey building worthy of note in the East. Their Azikiwe was so fixated on Yorubaland and Yoruba progress that he almost went mad.

Yeah apparently Yoruba was subdued by Fulani and till date are prostrating to an Emir, whose forefathers trashed the Oyo Empire….

You people are disgracing Yorubas by stupid post

Please, stop that

It takes years to develop an oil field. The just started Oil exploration in Kolmani, but it wont start producing oil for another 10 years

So oil may have been discovered in 1956, but it was not exported in huge amounts until the end of the war

At the bolded is not true... Oil exportation started in the year 1860 and it was over 500,000 barrels.... Please tell us what the Eastern Region Government use the proceeds on in the region....

As usual you want to change the topic.
You said the old Eastern Region didn’t sell oil at all. Now I dispute your lie you are asking what did Nigeria achieve with the oil money. Did you Eastern Region show anything for selling the oil for 7 years?

How come Western Nigeria had a TV station b4 the Federal Government.
Make this correction now. It's was the first TV station in the whole of Africa. This are progressive minded legacies cut short as a result of the mixture of real human in the west with lost monkeys that narrowly escape evolution into human from the east and north together in one entity call Nigeria.

I think because in the olden days of Regionalism. The regions were more powerful than the centre. The centre only dealt with foreign affairs, the military and currency. The regions control the resources.

Having said that how come the Eastern Region which was controlling the oil in Nigeria did not make Eastern region the Dubai of Africa. At least they were controlling the resources in Eastern region.

By then there was no oil boom that it later became. Yes Nigeria had discover oil that period but not many wells were discovered as at that time and exploration technology were not this advanced as at that time (1960 to 1966)

Well if Nigeria cannot show what it achieved in over 50 years of selling oil since the war ended, if Nigeria cannot tell you why it is poverty capital of the world despite being 6th biggest crude oil producer

Then you have no business asking what the Eastern Region did with its oil
