Kaduna Ministerial Slot: Group Roots Support For Hamisu ‘Mairago’

A political group, the Coalition of Concerned Citizens (COCOCI) has joined in appealing to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani to consider forwarding Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar, popularly known as Mairago, name for ministerial position.

The appeal was made in a statement signed by the coordinator of the group, Manasseh Bitrus, on Sunday in Kaduna.

The group which consists of numerous political associations across Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna state, said Mairago deserves to be considered for ministerial position considering his wealth of experience and his immense contribution to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state during the 2023 elections.

The group described Mairago as selfless politician who will be a tremendous asset to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the group, Mairago’s wealth of Knowledge and experience as a legal practitioner, a lecturer, an economist, a manager, and an administrator has prepared him for the Ministerial job.

Mairago was the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

Though I am not from Kaduna, the best candidate for ministerial appointment from the state should go to Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed, a former chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). This is because he's more liberal, accommodating, non-corruptible, honest with friends accross all segments of the state.
