Nonny95: Majority of the southeast out-of-school children are in Lagos. That statistics does not say it all. They are doing business apprentices in Lagos. That's the truth. They swell the numbers of southwest out of school children. |

EmekaA125:In the SW, Northerners of all sorts Hausa, Igede, Igala, Ebira are by far more than Igbos in total while SS too like Urhobo, Edo, Calabar etc are also more but they are specialized in different trades |

Racoon:I don't think the leaders you are referring to are illiterate by any measure. Check their bios and you will discover that they are very well educated both home and abroad and well exposed. They may even be more educated and exposed than you speaking. Their bad leadership has nothing to do with their education. Let us just say they are educated but bad leaders. Note that both the southern and northern leaders are inclusive in this bad leadership palaver |

Lol,they are already chestbeating as expected ! As if we don't know that more than 60% of their entire population don't live in their tiny enclave ! The remaining 40% of the population are being decimated by Ugm/IPOB on a daily basis ! Does it take a rocket science for anyone to figure out that the statistics,as released,is proportional to each region's population ? Lol, as expected,Chinedu and Emeka are already beating their empty chest over this ! "Na we be the best,Odogwu, yen, yen, yen, mtchew, shior ! They all keep arriving here from their different villages and regions, poverty stricken people with no solid plans for the education of their wards. One mumu was even saying here;there is excuse for for Igbo to have such number, blah, blah ! Chinedu, how many people dey your village again ?! Ugm/IPOB and extreme poverty have chased everyone out of the cursed land ! Una dey ment ! |

Nonny95:Na Osun and Oyo States cause the south west figure to rise. Glad to note they now go to school. It will be very difficult to see pupils roam the streets during school hours in ekiti and ondo states. If at all you see a child begging alms in those 2 states, they must be non-indigenes 1 Like 1 Share |

lawani:Lol. Northern population combined can't match Igbo dominance in Lagos. This is no argument. After Yorubas, Igbos are the largest in any SW city due to their economic prowess and high enterprising courage. You can't beat the reach. |

EVERY CHILD IN THE SOUTH EAST MUST GO TO SCHOOL. THIS MUST BE ENFORCED. LET'S RAISE THIS TO OUR GOVERNORS. PLEASE IF YOU SEE ANY CHILD BELOW 16 NOT IN SCHOOL DURING SCHOOL HOURS. HOLD THE CHILD AND TAKE HIM TO POLICE STATION. GET HIS PARENTS INVOLVED. IT STARTS FROM US. 1 Like |

mrvitalis: EXACTLY!!! ASIDE THAT, PLEASE IF YOU SEE ANY CHILD ON THE STREET DURING SCHOOL HOURS. HOLD THE CHILD AND VISIT THE NEAREST POLICE BARRACKS/STATION. HIS PARENTS MUST BE REPORTED AND FINED. I REPEAT, EVERYONE MUST BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR ANY CHILD ROAMING THE STREET DURING SCHOOL HOURS. |

EmekaA125: In our town Ere Ijesa there may be 150 Hausas, 50 Igedes and maybe five Igbos in all but it is a farming village and all farming villages have Igede in Ijesa land but Hausas in our place are doing dry season farming on river banks. If you go to town I don't think up to one thousand shops on Ijesa land are Igbo owned though I am not sure but no market has up to ten percent Igbos. All markets are ninety percent Yoruba or more and Hausa have their own sectors too in sabo. Urhobos are all over the place doing palm oil and other jobs Yoruba do. They are very plenty so if you check very well and take it zone by zone, SE may come last in the SW but ethnicity by ethnicity is when they will be similar to Hausa number. In Ilesa are many Hausa millionaires if not multi millionaires. Take 100k dollars to them and they will change it. Anything you want to sell they will buy cash down. Igbos are in spare parts, wears, phone parts building materials and it will just be a not so huge number of shops. However ethnicity by ethnicity, they will rank with Hausa. I can't say who is more or who is making more money because they are all making money here in Ilesa. Again zone by zone, SE will not be the largest definitely and they can only beat NE. All other zones should beat them in the SW but you know those zones are not one ethnicity like the SE. That is the issue. In Lagos too, SS will surpass Igbos if added together. Then Hausa millionaires are plenty in Yoruba land and their number one Dangote is in Yoruba land. There are Igbos too but there is no reason to say Igbos in SW are more successful than Hausas but if you say they feel more relaxed than Hausa it may be true |

EmekaA125: We are not talking about rice here. Stop derailing. Yes igbos are the majority of non yorubas living in the south west followed by Hausas. They all contributed to the rising number of out of school children in that region. Take it or leave it! |
