Wherever Cristiano Ronaldo goes, he brings a crowd. Fans in Tehran, Iran shut down the city as Al Nassr arirved to compete in the AFC Champions League.

Al Nassr released videos of the scenes surrounding the team bus, with thousands of fans running, screaming and taking photos as they chased the Portuguese icon. Other submissions from social media show crowds in the thousands bearing down on the hotel, chanting Ronaldo's name.

The Saudi Arabian club are set to play Tehran-based side Persepolis in their opening AFC Champions League group stage fixture on Tuesday night and they've had quite the welcome.

Fans young and old were spotted holding up Ronaldo posters and wearing Ronaldo shirts as the Portuguese superstar prepares to play in the Iranian capital.
