Ronaldo Sets New Record In Al-Nassr's AFC Champions League Match

Cristiano Ronaldo achieved a remarkable milestone during Al-Nassr’s victory in the AFC Champions League on Tuesday night. The Portuguese superstar played the full 90 minutes before being substituted in added time as his team secured a 2-0 win over Persepolis.

Although Ronaldo didn’t find the back of the net in this match, the 38-year-old managed to break an impressive record yet again. With this win alongside the Saudi giants, Ronaldo extended his unbeaten streak to 1000 games (comprising wins and draws) throughout his club and international career.

During this remarkable run, Ronaldo’s teams have secured 776 victories and played to 224 draws, making it a truly impressive statistic.

The match against Persepolis saw Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr take advantage of their numerical superiority after the hosts had Milad Sarlak sent off in the second half, following an incident where he stepped on Ronaldo’s foot. Ten minutes later, Ronaldo assisted Marcelo Brozovic in unlocking the resilient Persepolis defense, resulting in Abdulrahman Ghareeb’s goal through a deflected strike from Brozovic’s cutback.

In the 72nd minute, Mohammed Qassem doubled Al-Nassr’s lead with a powerful shot into the top corner, securing the victory.

Sadio Mane, Al-Nassr forward, commented on the match: “It was a good game, even though the first half was a little bit difficult for both teams. We played well in the second half, created some chances, and scored two goals. I think we deserved to win tonight.”
