Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has confirmed the Tottenham buy-back clause on him following his £100m move to the German club this summer. Harry Kane left Spurs for the Bundesliga champions in the transfer window just gone, with the north London club not wanting to risk losing the England captain on a free transfer next summer.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy revealed at a fans’ forum on Tuesday night that the club had secured a buy-back option on Kane, but did not disclose any further details. Harry Kane, who has scored four goals in his first four games for Bayern, did not rule out a return to Tottenham in the future when he announced his departure from the club in August.

Kane happy with Bayern choice

Kane admits there were talks between a number of clubs for his signature during the summer, but he insists he’s very happy he chose Bayern Munich. The England captain expressed his interest and excitement in Bayern, and said he did not have too many other talks once they approached him.

Kane will make his Champions League debut for Bayern Munich on Wednesday night when they welcome Manchester United at the Allianz Arena. United had targeted Kane earlier this summer, according to reports.

Kane praises Tottenham’s start

Despite Kane’s departure, Tottenham have made an impressive start under new head coach Ange Postecoglou this season and are unbeaten in the Premier League with four wins to sit second.

Spurs travel to north London rivals Arsenal on Super Sunday and Kane insists he will keep an eye on his former club’s results for the rest of his life.

Kane said he was happy to see the team playing the way they are and to see their fans happy as well. He added that he was sure they would be excited to keep that up and that he would see how they get on over the course of the season.
