Do you ever imagine how man jobs that will be lost due to the high pace in advancement of technology? Well that is left for the future to decide however here are 10 jobs that use to be some people source of income that are barely or no more in existence

1. Switchboard Operator: Switchboard operators were responsible for manually connecting telephone calls by plugging and unplugging cables on a switchboard. With the advent of automated telephone exchanges and digital technology, this job became obsolete.

2. Lamplighter: Lamplighters were responsible for lighting and extinguishing gas lamps in cities and towns. As electric lighting replaced gas lamps, the need for lamplighters diminished, rendering their job obsolete.

3. Ice Cutter: Ice cutters used to harvest ice from frozen lakes and rivers during winter. This ice was stored in icehouses and used for refrigeration before the invention of electric refrigeration systems, such as refrigerators.

4. Elevator Operator: Elevator operators manually operated elevators, ensuring passengers' safety and directing them to their desired floors. With the advent of automated elevator systems and self-service controls, the role of elevator operators gradually disappeared.

5. Telegraph Operator: Telegraph operators transmitted and received messages using telegraph systems, which relied on electrical signals over long distances. As telegraph technology was replaced by more advanced communication systems like telephones and the Internet, the need for telegraph operators declined.

6. Typesetter: Typesetters were skilled professionals who arranged metal or wooden type characters in a composing stick to create printed text. With the emergence of digital typesetting and desktop publishing, the demand for manual typesetting decreased significantly.

7. VCR Repair Technician: VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) repair technicians specialized in repairing and maintaining VCRs, which were widely used for playing and recording video tapes. As VCRs became outdated and replaced by DVDs, Blu-ray players, and digital streaming services, the need for VCR repair technicians vanished.

8. Film Projectionist: Film projectionists operated projectors to screen movies in cinemas. With the transition from analog film to digital cinema projection, the role of film projectionists became obsolete.

9. Milkman: Milkmen were responsible for delivering fresh milk and other dairy products directly to customers' homes. As refrigeration and the availability of milk in grocery stores became more widespread, the demand for milk delivery services declined.

10. Knocker-upper: Knocker-uppers had the task of waking people up in the early morning before the invention of alarm clocks. They used long sticks or poles to tap on windows or doors to wake up their clients. With the availability of affordable alarm clocks, the need for knocker-uppers disappeared.
