AIYEDATIWA AND THE 350 MILLION ILAJE/ESE-ODO INTERVENTION FUND ALLEGATION


Having perused the notice of allegation of gross misconduct against Ondo Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa by the Ondo State House of Assembly, it is shocking to have observed that, Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu actually approved Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (350,000,000,000) meant for Ilaje/Ese-Odo as State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA is an umbrella body whose raison d’etre is to coordinate the activities of relevant agencies in preventing and managing environmental disasters, either by providing relief materials or financial assistance to victims of various disasters within Ondo State.


Looking through the lens of Gov. Oluwarotimi Odunayo Oluwarotimi administration and having an Ilaje/Ese-Odo man as the Deputy Governor, it would be disagreeable to say that the Government of Ondo State has left Ilaje/Ese-Odo behind despite the oil exploration and exploitation that has caused rampaging sea incursion and other environmental hazards in the axis. Unknowingly, the lust for money, degree of desperation, insincere political ambition, lust for power and the passion for self aggrandizement of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has made the people of Ilaje/Ese-Odo suffered beyond imagination.

In addendum, allegation number twelve, thirteen and fourteen as cited in the notice of gross misconduct against Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and presented to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oladiji Olamide by Ondo Assembly lawmakers, Gov. Akeredolu approved;

Firstly, One Hundred Million Naira (100,000,000.00) meant for the State Emergency Management Agency Vide vote head 011100800100 subhead 05060002010101 dated, 2nd March, 2022 to cushion the effects of Sea Incursion and other rampaging environmental disasters.

Secondly, Governor Akeredolu approved One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (150,000,000,000.00) meant for the State Emergency Management Agency subhead 060001110102 dated 2nd March, 2022 for Ilaje/Ese-Odo flood control and to provide succour to the victims of environmental disasters.

Thirdly, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa flagrantly approved the sum of One Hundred Million Naira (100,000,000.00) as capital vote of the State Emergency Management Agency vide Head 011100800100, subhead 060001110102 without due process.


It is dissatisfactory to have learnt that the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa only shared scanty and low-cost items like; cutlasses, hoes, detergents, pillows, foams etc to some wards in Ilaje/Ese-Odo which didn’t worth Fifty Million Naira (50,000,000.00) out of the Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (350,000,000.00) approved.

The raging question is how did he spend the approved Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (350,000,000.00) meant for Ilaje/Ese-Odo State Emergency Management Agency in cushioning the effects of environmental disasters in the axis?

Conclusively, we urge Ondo Assembly members to investigate properly the whooping funds approved to cushion the effect of sea incursion and other environmental disasters in Ilaje/Ese-Odo.

This guy is enmeshed in a lot of mess just after spending months on the seat as governor. Thi is a case of enriching himself as much as possible before in the little time he have to spend on the seat as governor.
