Yes, Igbos are the pride of the black race. Yes, Nigerians must respect their greatness and achievements, and not resent or hate them.
They have their flaws- deep flaws that the uneducated ones display- like arrogance, aggression, vulgar, irrational, etc. But those are the uneducated ones amongst them. And those flaws don't take away their shine. The Igbo prople are the pride of the black race. You can deny for eternity, but the present and historical proof is there as shown below:

A) Igbo people resisted slave trade. This is factually documented. The white slave buyers were known to dislike Igbo slaves because they were very stubborn cheesy and difficult to control. No other black people did that.

B) Igbo slaves fought sailors on ships, and seized some ships. Some even committed suicide. Read up the Igbo landing. This is a documented fact. No other black people did that.

C) The British colonialists had difficulty in the East. They could not control the East. The republican nature of igbos ensured the British colonial masters failed. The Aba women Riots of 1929 is a reference point if you need proof. Only in the East the British failed.

D) Regardless of the civil war and the evil £20 policy, the Igbos have risen and currently lead in education and wealth distribution indices. The igbos have the lowest poor people, lowest out of school children, lowest crime rate (if not fir Buhari), lowest unemployment rate, etc. Despite marginalization and hate from their fellow Nigerians. No other black race can survive and recover like that.

E) Nigeria holds down its progress and greatness by holding down the igbos. Chinua Achebe had rightly noted it that when you hold someone down, you also hold yourself to keep him down.

In present day Nigeria, all Presidents rejected by the Igbos have turned out to be failures. The igbos have been proved right in politics. Any leader the East rejects has been a calamity for the nation.

Fellow Nigerians, the Igbos are not your enemies. The igbos don't go around killing people. The igbos are peace loving people. Just as the Americans used the Jews to become great, let us harness the gifts of the Igbo people to build a great nation. Their gifts in technology, sports, strength, intelligence and creativity, etc, should be harnessed, not envied. Nigerians, let's love and respect our diversity.
