Please learned or experience members should throw more light to this topical question:

What happens if a turn around evidence emerges after a judgement or conviction of a defendant?

Mostly in the western world, I've heard some cases a matter was revisited following a confession or the emergence of a new evidence and a conviction was upturned in favor of the convicted with a huge financial state compensation.

My questions are: Does evidence expire?

Is the revisiting of cases applicable in Nigeria? If so what are the prerequisites?

Does Nigeria have an evidence bank for future forensic analysis even after a matter is concluded.

What are the effects or a wrong criminal conviction to the judge?

Burden of Proof: Generally, the burden of proof lies with the convicted individual to demonstrate that the new evidence is substantial and casts reasonable doubt on their guilt. The court will evaluate the evidence and make a determination based on legal standards and procedures.
