The whole thing has become a soap opera. I think Lagos Government and the truckers are really having fun at Ojuelegba, otherwise what stops the government from deploying 24 hour security at the point to prevent repeated destruction of the barriers which I believe is intentional? Nonsense!
Re: Another Truck Has Rammed Into The Ojuelegba Barrier. by COMPAQ(m): 7:06pm On Oct 08, 2023
LASG should get the insurers of the truck to pay for damages. And if the truck owner has no insurance, then he should pay for the repairs out of pocket.

Nothing makes people have sense more than having to cough up money they don't have.

It's very simple the truck owner must fix it back or forget about the truck.

Naturally Nigerians no dey hear word, so fix the barrier within 3 to 5 days or forget your truck.

Average LAGOS truck drivers are MAD and not qualified to drive. Despite that they saw that barrier and its even during the day a=makes it worrisome. LASG used both online pools and public opinion to seek solution to constant accidents there and they listened to most popular suggestions. Now , you can see that average lagos drivers are wicked and doesnt want changes.
I think the fine should be over 5 millions without option of negotiation, and impoundment of their trucks for a year. Wicked souls.
if na you get the truck you no go type this rubbish whey you type so

Deploy security that will start extorting after a while?. Any truck caught should be fined and made to fix it. We are generally a lawless bunch of people

Fast and Furius 13 should start their act from Ojuelegba Bridge. The drivers of these trucks are extremely weird, mean, dangerous and predatory human beings. This is beyond wickedness.

The best bet is that lagos construct a hellish concrete and iron cast structure in 3 form of defense that any mad truck driver that attempt to hit it will lead to total annihilation of their vehicle. Maybe that will pass the message better to them
Why not deal with the drivers?
Re: Another Truck Has Rammed Into The Ojuelegba Barrier. by PHAYOL81: 7:21pm On Oct 08, 2023
This driver, I'm sure, would've blamed the government over one thing or another, citing the SANER CLIME as the yardstick of how a society should look or work. But here he is, finding it difficult to live, act and operate the way SANE people behave in the society he usually pointed to.

If you think the metropolis is disorganized, check out the people.

MY VERDICT: The said driver get minimum jail time of 24 months with N500,000 fine while the vehicle gets impounded, for six months, counting up from the day the company is able to completely fix another like or better barrier.

You have used "special" as a euphemism here. Call them by their real names, MAD. They are all very very mad

I will suggest they put warning signs (both pictorial and digital) in strategic places (3km, 2km ahead) as well as diversion options for trucks before they get to that actual point.

Lagos State Government and their useless means of syphoning funds...
What will it cost them to orientate the truck drivers on their routing options prior to the fixing of the barrier... Or erecting the barrier to accommodate 60 ft containers to avoid wastage of tax payers money over white elephant projects....

The reason behind the barrier is to stop all containers and huge articulated vehicle from using the bridge.
So there is no need for height increase.

In plain English tell us why the barrier was put in place?.
You keep displaying ignorance, must the article expressly state the reason? If you have not been suffering from diarrhea of the hand, you would have realized it was better you didn't comment because the essence of the barrier was to prevent them from falling off the bridge
