Let's use Nigeria as a case study:

Christian Founder Jesus Christ Originated from Israel according to the bible.

Israel has only 185,000 Christian population
Nigeria has 87 million population of Christians.
We are ORIGINAL IMPORTERS O.

Muslim Founder Mohammed Originated from Saudi Arabia according to Quran
Saudi Arabia has 31.5 million population of Muslims
Nigeria has 90 million population of Muslims.
Wahali Talahi Sumobilahi we be OGBOLOGBO IMPORTER grin

Note: Because we import too much and export almost nothing, our Currency exchange rate was so much valueless.
Because we import too much ideas and religion and exported almost nothing, our Religion became almost non-existent while Foreign Religion had strong influence on us. grin

Not really, just like other continents, Africa was also influenced by foreign religions. I think we may have just overdone it.

Our extractive political and economic institutions are maintained by these religious institutions.
Religious opium enables our elite get away with logic defying impunity.
It’s a reflection of the state of our political institutions.
