Hello,
I graduated with Bsc. (Hons) chemistry in 2021 and just this year, I applied for Msc. Chemistry with specialization in analytical chemistry thinking it will help me build up my career as a medicinal or Pharmaceutical Chemist.

However, I met with a colleague today and it seems like a specialization in organic chemistry is the best route to becoming any of the above. I am now quite discouraged.

Is there still a hope to do my PhD. Specializing in any of the above ? Or will I need to redo a Msc. In organic chemistry too ?

What is the solution now

U should hv gone for MSc Pharmaceutical chemistry directly, I think Unilag offers it.

Anyway, wth Msc Chemistry opt in analytical chemistry, its a general course. Thus, u can still hv an idea abt it.
