Op, I have been thinking about this for days now and I strongly believe any of the reasons below caused it:

1.) Israeli Muslims among the Israeli intelligence team sabotaged Israel's intelligence or


2.) Those loyal to anti Netanyahu's government sabotaged the intelligence as a way of causing Israelis to turn against Netanyahu's government or


3.) Netanyahu's government allowed this to happen in order to give his government the reason to start a war with Hamas and others so that the mounting opposition to his government can be diverted to a common national cause like Israel's security, or


4.) Netanyahu's government planned this as a way of decimating Hamas and taking over part of Gaza in order to reduce the threat Gaza and Hamas poses to Israel, or lastly and most likely


5.) Israel have observed carefully how Iran have been arming Hamas with deadly weapons and are looking for a reason to destroy Hamas completely and indirectly get Iran involved in order to invade Iran and destroy Iran's fast growing nuclear project that's nearing completion. This could be with the backing of US and possibly UK.


Maybe they want to see a reason to invade Iran to destroy Iran's nuclear projects and capability.

But seems Iran noticed the war is indirectly prepared for them and have decided to distance themselves from it from the onset.
