Jean-Michel Basquiat

He was born on December 22, 1960 in Brooklyn. He was an American artist who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the Neo-expressionism movement. At 21, Basquiat became the youngest artist to ever take part in Documenta in Kassel, Germany. At 22, he was one of the youngest to exhibit at the Whitney Biennial in New York.

Basquiat died at the age of 27 of a heroin overdose at his home on Great Jones Street in Manhattan on August 12, 1988. He had been found unresponsive in his bedroom by his girlfriend Kelle Inman and was taken to Cabrini Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Robert Leroy Johnson

Robert Johnson was born in Mississippi, possibly on May 1911. Edward James remembered Johnson as a "little boy" who was a competent harmonica player but an embarrassingly bad guitarist. Soon after, Johnson left Robinsonville for the area around Martinsville, close to his birthplace, possibly searching for his natural father. Here he perfected the guitar style of Edward James and learned other styles from Isaiah "Ike" Zimmerman.

Jimi Hendrix

Born in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at age 15. Hendrix acquired his first acoustic guitar, for $5. He played for hours daily, watching others and learning from more experienced guitarists, and listening to blues artists such as Robert Johnson. Before Hendrix was 19 years old, law authorities had twice caught him riding in stolen cars. Given a choice between prison or joining the Army, he chose the latter and enlisted on May 31, 1961.


Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music. On September 17, 1970 Hendrix was found breathing but unconscious and unresponsive. His then girlfriend called for an ambulance, and it arrived nine minutes later. Paramedics transported Hendrix to St Mary Abbots Hospital where he was pronounced dead on September 18 at the age of 27.

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known professionally as MohBad, was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos. He was formerly signed to Naira Marley's Marlian Records and left the label in 2022. In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested MohBad, Zinoleesky, and four others at their home in Lekki, Lagos for possession of illegal substances that included MDMA and cannabis.


On 5 October 2022, MohBad accused his manager, singer Naira Marley, of assault and stated that his former boss ordered people to beat him up after he announced his intention to employ a different manager to handle his music and business affairs. On 12 September 2023, MohBad died at the age of 27 after being treated for an infection by an unlicensed nurse, who was later arrested.

Morrison was an American singer-songwriter and poet who was the lead vocalist of the rock band the Doors. Morrison is regarded by music critics and fans as one of the most influential frontmen in rock history. Jim Morrison on September 28, 1963, age 19, was arrested in Tallahassee, Florida for drunken behavior at a football game. On September 20, 1970, Morrison was convicted of indecent exposure and profanity by a six-person jury in Miami after a sixteen-day trial.

On July 3, 1971, Morrison was found dead in the bathtub of the apartment at approximately 6:00 a.m by Courson (was a long-term companion of Jim Morrison). He was 27 years old. The official cause of death was listed as heart failure. Several individuals who say they were eyewitnesses, including Marianne Faithfull, claim that his death was due to an accidental heroin overdose.

Leslie Cameron Harvey

Leslie Cameron Harvey was a Scottish guitarist in several bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Harvey was a co-founder of Stone the Crows in late 1969.

While on stage with Stone the Crows at Swansea Top Rank in 1972, he was electrocuted when he touched a microphone that was not earthed while the fingers of his other hand were holding the strings of his guitar. An attempt was made to unplug the guitar, but it was unsuccessful. Harvey died from his injuries, aged 27.

He was born on 24 May 1995 in Belorechensk. He became interested in rap at the age of 14 after listening to Eminem and 2Pac. He began his first steps in his career back in 2012 at the Slovo battle site.


On 30 September 2022, in his Telegram channel, Ivan released a suicide video where he said that because of mobilization and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he had decided to commit suicide by jumping. He was 27. On the day of his death, Ivan also released an album where he says goodbye to everyone

Kurt Donald Cobain

Kurt Donald Cobain was an American musician who was the co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter of the rock band Nirvana. Cobain developed an interest in music at a young age. According to his aunt Mari, he began singing at the age of two. At age four, he started playing the piano and singing, writing a song about a trip to a park.

Cobain befriended a gay student at school and was bullied by peers who concluded that he was gay. In an interview, he said that he liked being associated with a gay identity because he did not like people, and when they thought he was gay they left him alone. His friend tried to kiss him, and Cobain backed away, explaining to his friend that he was not gay, but remained friends with him

On April 8, 1994, he was found dead in his Seattle home at the age of 27; police concluded he had died on April 5 from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

Janis Joplin

was an American singer and songwriter. One of the most successful and widely known rock performers of her era, she was noted for her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals.

At around one a.m. on October 4th, 1970, she got her heroin kit out and injected a vein in her left arm. Then she went to the cigarette machine in the hotel lobby, returning to her room with a pack. She closed the door, started to UnCloth and reached to put her packet on the nightstand. As she did so she keeled over, hitting her face on the table as she fell to the floor, where she was found dead the next day.

Kurt Cobain of Nivrna and Amy Winehouse too. Drugs really did a number on those artists one would think the coming generations will make better choices. Britney Spears was also spiralling out of control around that age, fans were hoping and praying she doesn't make the 27 club too. Thank God for her life sha, she may have been financially exploited for pretty much her entire career but at least she is alive and well.
