On Monday, October 16th, Senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents Ogun East in the National Assembly, launched a free eye care program for the residents of his senatorial district. The program aims to provide eye care services to over a thousand people from the nine local government areas in Ogun East Senatorial District. It is a three-day initiative, and the first phase commenced simultaneously at the Akarigbo Royal Hall in Sagamu and Imowo Hall in Ijebu Ode.

The program is also scheduled to provide eye care services in Ijebu Igbo and Ogun Waterside on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. The theme of the free eye care program is "Elimination of avoidable blindness in Ogun East," and it is organized by the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) in collaboration with Eye Foundation Hospital. The services offered at the program include free eye tests, free eye screenings, free medications, and free medicated glasses.

He stressed that good eyesight is essential for the mental and psychological well-being of his constituents and can enhance their productivity.
