The influx of Palestinians tilted the demographics in favor of the Muslims. And soon it led to a conflict between the Maronite Christian forces and the Palestinians, that led to a civil war, which raged for 15 years, devastating the country, left 150,000 dead, and a large scale exodus mostly of Lebanese Christians.

I watched a footage on CNN and was surprised to see how hamas operated freely for a long time on Israeli territory, without the presence of Israeli security agencies which is reputed to be one of the best in the world . There is big truth in what you wrote up there, it must have been an intentional act on the part of the Israelis.

I don't believe Israel loves land grabbing, it's because enemies are waging wars against them that makes them to fight and conquer them.
If Israel allows enemies to operate freely on their land after having victory in war, enemies will gang up again.
Israel left Gaza in 2005 and allowed them self rule on their land but instead of Gaza people to be peaceful,they started to launch rockets into Israel.

When Israel became a nation recognized by UN in 1948, two states option was planned for both Israel and Palestine but Palestine rejected it and went into war against Israel with the backing of many Arab countries but Israel won them in just 6 days.
If Palestine has agreed that time, this war would have been avoided .
Israel doesn't believes in negotiating with terrorists but to kill them all, if Israel fell for negotiation for release of their citizens, next time, terrorists will still do the same again.
