A Benin national was caught by the Delhi Police within seven hours of him escaping the police custody on Monday when he was being produced before a magistrate for extension of his police custody. One of his associates, a Nigerian, who allegedly helped him flee on a two-wheeler, was also arrested, senior police officer said. The man who was arrested for escaping has been identified as Uche Uwadiegu (31), a resident of Cotonou in Benin and his associate Nanso Rexfelison (42) who lived in Delhi's Chander Vihar but hails from Nigeria. According to the police, Uwadiegu was arrested last Friday by the narcotics team from Paschim Vihar West police station in outer Delhi with possession of a kg of heroin.
