WOLE ADEDOYIN UNVEILS PLANS FOR ADMINISTERING THE ANA SECRETARIAT

In anticipation of the upcoming ANA Election, Wole Adedoyin, a candidate vying for the role of General Secretary, has revealed an extensive blueprint that encapsulates his vision for the future of the ANA Secretariat. Grounded in principles of modernization, inclusivity, and active member engagement, Adedoyin's innovative strategies hold the potential to reshape the literary terrain not just in Nigeria but also on a global scale.

Adedoyin's foremost initiative involves the establishment of a Hybrid ANA Secretariat, seamlessly integrating physical and online activities. Embracing the digital era, he plans to launch State-Based Blog Projects, providing every State Chapter with individual sub-websites to document and promote their literary events. Simultaneously, the ANA website is set to undergo a significant upgrade, enabling the promotion and sale of works by ANA members and showcasing a wealth of association-related content.

Furthermore, Adedoyin is set to enhance ANA's online presence by revamping the association's social media platforms, ensuring regular updates on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Existing blogs will undergo improvements and be seamlessly integrated into the official website, providing members with a cohesive online experience. Every ANA Chapter Chairman will be equipped with personalized email accounts, enhancing communication within the association.

A groundbreaking addition to ANA's communication channels will be the launch of a Monthly Electronic Newsletter, offering in-depth coverage of state chapters' activities, interviews, and literary works. Adedoyin's tenure will also witness Weekly Engagements, featuring highlights such as Author of the Week and Book of the Week, ensuring the association remains vibrant and dynamic.

In an effort to foster a sense of belonging among young writers, Adedoyin plans to initiate a Chapbook Series exclusively dedicated to unpublished writers affiliated with ANA. Additionally, he will organize Member Workshops focusing on professional skills, marketing strategies, and self-publishing techniques.

Recognizing the importance of recognizing achievements, Adedoyin will introduce a range of Awards, Rewards, and Recognition categories, such as Chapter of the Year and Dedicated Member of the Year, inspiring active participation among members. He also intends to establish an archive chronicling ANA's history and contributions to the literary world.

Adedoyin’s tenure as ANA Secretary will usher in an era of collaboration, as he plans to establish partnerships with global literary organizations like the International Human Rights Art Movement (IHRAM) and the International Women Writing Guild (IWWG). To enrich the reading culture in Nigeria, he will encourage the creation of book clubs in ANA State chapters and selected schools.

Furthermore, Adedoyin is committed to the mentorship of aspiring writers, initiating programs where experienced authors guide and nurture the talents of the next generation. To ensure members' voices are heard, he will implement a Feedback System, creating a mechanism for members to express their needs and concerns.

Wole Adedoyin's vision for the ANA Secretariat is poised to revolutionize the literary landscape, ushering in an era of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.

According to Wole Adedoyin, a successful executive led by a visionary president needs an engine room that will drive all programmes and projects effectively and efficiently. That engine room in ANA is the secretariat manned by an experienced, knowledgeable and hardworking General Secretary. This critical job cannot be left to someone who does not have an institutional memory nor is familiar with the huge human and intellectual resources of the Association. It is not a place to come and start learning the ropes. Adedoyin promised to deliver on all the promises made above and in his years in ANA, he has been known for delivering for the Association. If elected as General Secretary in ANA, Adedoyin will continue in the best traditions of past General Secretaries such as kole Omotoso, Femi Osofisan, Odia Ofeimun, Nnimmo Bassey, Ada Ugah,Wale Okediran, Nduka Otiono, Denja Abdullahi, Hyacinth Obunseh and others.
