DANIEL 2:46

[Daniel 2:46] — "Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odors to him."

RESTRAIN YOUR WORSHIPPERS: Worship God alone

This was a scenario, wherein a King who could command anyone, worshipped and ascribed divinity to a man who could not command anyone. Worship is not earned by authority or power, but by divinity and worthiness. The man (king) that had unmatched powers worshipped the man (prophet) that had unmatched divination/revelation.

Nevertheless, Daniel allowed the king to go on worshiping him and the king's subject to go on doing as the king commanded to offer oblation and sweet smelling savor to Daniel. That was a point to Daniel's ignorance and undoing. A man of God must not receive worship or glory due to God only, and there are many men of God that had already fallen into that folly of receiving worship, praises and offerings, that should have been only offered to God and not to any man. Many of them already allowed people to keep calling them, "Father in the Lord" or "Spiritual Father."

Paul was wiser than Daniel in this regards, for he restrained people from worshiping him or making offerings to them as Gods; but the same Paul was ignorant of the error of being called the father in Christ to any Child of God.

I commend Paul for restraining the people from worshiping him and his fellow man of God, even as demi-gods: in lack of that Daniel failed in the top Bible verse above. As it is written,

[Acts 14:11‭-‬18 NKJV] — Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to sacrifice with the multitudes. But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.

It was Herod that kept receiving glory from the people who hailed and praised him as God, and an Angel suddenly struck him dead for not giving the glory to God but took the glory for himself. Therefore, worms did not have to wait for him in hell fire before feeding on his carcass in the sight of those who hailed him (Acts 12:22-23). But from this angel in the Bible reference below:

[Revelation 19:10 ICB] — Then I bowed down at the angel’s feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not worship me! I am a servant like you and your brothers who have the truth of Jesus. Worship God! Because the truth about Jesus is the spirit that gives all prophecy.”

Well, yes… Daniel did not restrain the king Nebuchadnezzar from bowing down to him, but did the king just did?
The king was an idolater, but when he had an encounter with a superior GOD, he paid homage to the unseen GOD of Daniel, not just Daniel directly.

Remember the king said, Daniel 2 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁴⁶ Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
⁴⁷ The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

Observe, he did not say Daniel is, but his GOD.

Now, the same Daniel did GOD said these about:
“Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.”
— Ezekiel 14:14 (KJV)

Why do you think GOD made a reference to Daniel too there?

Also, an Angel of the LORD said these to Daniel:

Daniel 12 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁹ And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

¹³ But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

So, Daniel and Paul are two different personalities.

In defense of Daniel. Thanks. However, Daniel was still used to receiving worship from them. Infact, Daniel was called "Belteshazzar" which was a Babylonian name that meant Daniel was a god or something like that. Paul and Barnabas declined being called "Zeus" (Mercury) or Hermes (Jupiter). Did Daniel declined being called "Belteshazzar?"
