Dr. Emmanuel Ogonna Iwueke, known as Crazy Clown, a Nigerian comedian, has disclosed that the one-million-naira worth of shares his dad purchased in 2002 is now valued at only N11,000.

In a brief video shared by the comedian, he humorously narrates how they used to boast in the past about his father buying shares for their future. However, as of 2023, the one-million-naira worth of shares is now worth a mere N11,000.

In the video, he shares his belief that it's important to invest in shares for your children's future so they can have financial security. He recalls a time in 2002 when his dad purchased shares and how excited he and his siblings were. They even proudly mentioned it to their school friends, confident that these shares would secure their future.

Recently, he received a message from the stock company, revealing that his dad had invested 1 million naira in shares back in 2002, despite financial difficulties, all with the intention of ensuring a better life for his children.

However, the shocking revelation came when he checked the current value of those shares, which had dwindled to just N11,551 and 46kobo.

In a light-hearted manner, he humorously questioned the purpose of those shares, wondering if they were meant for buying garri or eba.

During my second year at the university,I bought UBA shares and in my third year also,I bought Finbank shares now FCMB. These shares are not what they claimed to be. There are some hidden things behind such companies which can only be traced to the manners those CEO's manipulated figures in the past which has affected the present.

After this experience,i can't wish anyone to delve into that journey.

It is not for the faint hearted.

For the ordinary man, shares has always been a scam in Nigeria. Only venture into it if you're a big shot.
If you are not a director of the company, or have a representative on the board, your investment is worth at most, half the amount you paid for it.
Economic realities is also a major factor.
It's better to invest in real estate if you're trying to secure the future.

I'm sure he bought the shares in one of those yeye one-man businesses that don't know what they're doing.

I challenge him to mention the name 9f the company where the value of shares dwindled from N1 million to just N11,000 between year 2002 and year 2023 undecided

I bought FinBank share in 2008 for 10,000 Naira, now it’s worth less than 4,000 naira after being acquired by FCMB at 4:1.
