The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has threatened to boycott a meeting with the Federal Government scheduled for Monday to review implementation of Memorandum of agreements signed on October 3. 2023.

NLC President Joe Ajaero came out with this at a news briefing in Abuja on Sunday

Ajaero says Labour will walk out of the meeting called by the chief of staff to President, Femi Gbajabiamila, should the minister of Labour and Employment, Solomon Lalong is invited, following accusation that he has taken some steps to truncate the MoU.

On developments in Imo state, the NLC President says it is going ahead to shutdown the State on Wednesday, November 1, despite reports that the state government has obtained an injunction from the national industrial court stopping the action.

NLC had threatened to stage a protest in Imo State over issues bordering on unpaid salaries and unfriendly labour practices.

COURT EXTENDS RESTRAINING ORDER ON PLANNED NLC, TUC STRIKE IN IMO

The National Industrial Court sitting in Owerri the Imo state capital has issued an extended interim injunction restraining the organised Labour from embarking on any strike in the state.

Justice Nelson Ogbuanya gave the order after hearing the submissions of the

Attorney General of Imo State, Cyprian Akaolisa.

Akaolisa approached the court to grant an extended interim order against

labour unions in view of their renewed threat to embark on strike.

The court warned the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress against the disobedience of its order, saying that it will attract consequences.

Do we still have courts in this country? The judiciary has long sold itself out. It'll be a miracle for anyone to take them seriously in 2023

"The court warned the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress against the disobedience of its order, saying that it will attract consequences". You can imagine because you preside over doesn't not give you absolute power. The same power you can not used to compel the state government to pay workers
