It is like it's only this guy, Wike and Umahi the only ones in the class.
Please, where are these ministers;
Power
Finance
Petroleum Resources
Agriculture.

What exactly are they doing in their offices ?

Its their own handwork and good news from their tables we want see and hear more often more than the others with the way Nigeria is today.
They should buckle and sit up.

Be deceiving yourself there. It's the ones doing odd jobs in Peckham or the ones in Canadia without residency that will tell the government their location?

You are very funny. grin

I think the government is trying to take advantage of this mass exit, and that's a great move. This brain drain is a major problem for us, and it cannot be stopped abruptly. Anything the government would do to stop it must be progressive and gradual. So the idea here is to find a way to benefit from it in the meantime in order to reduce the loss. If the brains aren't here to make our economy better, perhaps we could still benefit from the drain by providing an easy channel for them to send money home, invest in Nigeria and help those back home build thier skills. The point is to bring the money and the skills home as much as possible while also working towards making the country a favorable location for investors.

In my opinion, these people that always scream "misplaced priority" on everything are either overly excited youngsters, uneducated folks who don't know how the government works or just people who can't separate governance from politics. You think the government should leave what can solved now and focus on what can be solved next year because the later has a higher priority? Or you think one ministry should leave thier work because the work of another ministry has a higher priority? The government is huge. Each MDA has its mission, and one's work doesn't necessarily slow down the progress of another.

Our government is trashy. Our politics is extremely dirt. Our president has a very questionable past. I'm not proud of any of these, but trash-talking every single step taken by the government makes us look like dummies. When a step is taken in the right direction, acknowledge it. It doesn't mean you support the government. It means that when you disapprove of something, it will be clear that it's out sound judgment and not just sentiments.

Very laudable. Like it or not, this administration is engaging with the people and we can only hope for the best. Let them fail first before we label them failures.

Diaspora affairs have been neglected for too long. No clear strategy for an area that greatly support a chunk of our economy in the informal sector. We must support the diaspora and not make them easy targets for the bad ones among us. They should have corridors across the nation where they can setup investments and private properties creating employment for our people.

Tourism is also there in this aspect. It's sad that our diaspora are now largely switching their travel plans, weddings, etc to the Caribbean corridor. Nigeria is a wonderful destination in locations where we have good security. We must tap into this economy and maximize it for the benefit of our nation.

Most of these people are largely discouraged by many things Nigeria starting from our visa process in our embassies abroad, passport renewals where many have to travel long distance only to face insults and insensitive attitude by our embassy staff, even after paying so much money. Why should someone in Texas or Oklahoma be flying to Atlanta, Georgia or Washington, DC for basic consular issues? That's like flying from Nigeria to Senegal. Then they arrive in Nigeria after long flights to more insensitivity starting with poorly trained officials of a plethora of government agencies. We need to address all these.

We can go on and on and on.

Best minister so far in this administration. Followed by Umahi. The loudmouth, abrasive and extremely arrogant numbskull Wike should watch and learn, instead of antagonizing everyone around him.

He is focused on his duties.
It's not his duty to build industries, roads, bridges or power stations.
He is doing his duty, if everyone is doing their duty like he is doing his, the country will be a better place.

Start by reviewing our membership in the common wealth. The visa and economic advantage had not been extended to Nigeria and Nigerians, we don’t have a business being their member, period.

The review of the visa policy and visa on arrival reciprocity has to be highlighted for citizens to be educated on the current challenge of the Nigerian Int'l passport.

Nigeria has one of the weakest passports in the world.

There is a lot of stigmatisation attached to the Nigerian passport and its evident once you step out of the country with the level of scrutiny and search you have to undergo.

Nigeria has a projected population of 200m people presenting a huge potential and market for investments from both international and domestic investors.

The Ikeja, Ilupeju, Agbara and Amuwo Odofin Industrial axis in Lagos is dominated by foriegn Asian Companies same with the free trade zone in Lekki and our Mining sector.

The Nigerian passport has visa-on- arrival privilege to access only 25(Twenty Five) countries in the world. Its disgraceful, distasteful and embarrassing to say the least.

Even China that enjoys so many business privileges' doesn't grant Nigerians visa-on -arrival. The Chinese dominate our construction, textile and automobile business and can't reciprocate.

Nigerians have to pay millions to dump their citizenship through investments, or education route as our International passport is constantly been disrespected globally.

A well coordinated approach through the Interior Ministry, NIDCOM and the Ministry of foreign affairs would be a right approach to re-branding our already tainted passport image globally.

Imagine Nigerians dumping thier citizenship for smaller countries like Grenada, St Kitts, Antigua, Bermuda because of the number of countries that grant visa-on-arrival to these countries.

Some people rushing to comment don't even understand the thread. The thread is about Nigeria as a country reciprocating how other country treats us . It's not about blocking people from traveling. Make ona dey understand something before commenting.

I've never heard the agric minister on any major move to ease the hunger and the high cost of foods in the land since they all came on board. This administration only have about 2½ ministers working properly... Works, interior & noisy Abuja governor. Others ministers are hibernating...
