For those who don't know, the Black Hebrew Israelites are a long established group of Afro-Americans who contend that Afro-Americans are descended from the ancient Hebrews, having come from West Africa. Many, if not most west and central Africans are direct descendants of over a million black Jews who fled into Africa after the fall of the black Hebrew city of Jerusalem to Roman forces in 70 AD.

Deuteronomy 28 is a very central pillar of their contention.

This chapter is powerful in the way it captures the future of black people, who had turned against Yahweh all those thousands of years ago.

''I will bring you to Egypt again in SHIPS, and there, you shall be sold as slaves...''
