APPEAL COURT RESTORES ENUGU LP REPS MEMBER UMEHA

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos State on Saturday upheld the election of Cyriacus Sunday Umeha, representing Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The court set aside the judgement of the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Enugu, which had earlier nullified the victory of Umeha.

The three-man justices of the appellate court voided the decision of the trial tribunal on the ground that the lower court erred in law when it came to the conclusion that Umeha didn’t resign his membership in PDP, his former political party.

The court stated that issues of nomination and sponsorship of candidates were entirely pre-election matters.

DAILY POST recalls that a Justice A.M. Abubakar-led tribunal had declared Festus Uzor of PDP as the winner of the February 25 poll.

Not satisfied with the decision of the tribunal, the Labour Party and its candidate proceeded to the Court of Appeal, praying the court to void the judgement of the lower court.

However, the appeal court maintained that, based on the evidence tendered, Umeha duly resigned from PDP before seeking election on the platform of the Labour Party.

The court said Festus Uzor’s petition at the trial level lacked merit and ought to have been dismissed.

The ideology of Obi's campaign, cry and lamentations are that:

2. They can't accept a Yorubaman trashed them
3. They had evil intention that if not Obi it ll be Atiku.

The court of appeal is very unserious.they removed senator Darlington nwokocha for this same reason

Did Anybody in the LP NEC and NWC say that?
Did any of the candidates say that?

Or you believed what THE ENEMIES OF THE PARTY said about the party?

I know of LP since 2007, time of Adams Aliyu Oshiomole. What am telling you is that the media package of it revealed it at some point as pro-Igbo party. Obi and crew also rode with the euphoria. The disasters that now met them was fielding of GRV who some has already painted as Igbo ass-licker to win Lagos.
GRV too come get bad-mouth.
Also, there's glaring evidence of Igbos to dominate Lagos. Which Yorubas won't allow. Ilorin mistake is still a headache.
More so, the tribes in Nigeria aren't that united. Cos Igbos can't allow a Yoruba man of GRV status that has mixed parents to contest in Igboland. They will do him tribalism too just as they did to Ojukwu's wife over 10 years ago.
So the party that was able to maneuver and sell itself nationwide the most won.
