They're actually doing a good job bringing evil happenings like this to the media, if news like this go unreported the society will think everything is ok.
Where I lived abroad people where encouraged by the government to report things like this because they help the citizens to be security conscious and also aid security agencies in their fights against crime.

So to me they're doing a great job.
