There was a time we couldn't finish 1g a month, we have to renew and reactivate the old data by buying more data. But now, even 10g don't last a week shocked. No matter the picture or video quality that may be the alleged reason why data don't last nowadays, I still believe that the quantity of data we actually get is not up to what they quoted shocked

That thing you call 1Gb in Nigeria is equivalent to 100 mb.

Yeah, but the truth is, anyone using the price of 1GB data to determine the affordability of a data plan in Nigeria is being dishonest. We both know that a 1GB plan is more like a promotional plan, and it finishes quickly. The network providers know what they are doing.

What can one do with 1GB of data in the era of 5G and high-quality videos?

If you truly want to know how expensive data is in Nigeria compared to other countries, then go for monthly plans or 2 to 6-month plans. 22k will give you around 160GB or so, and if you are on minimum wage, then your salary is already down to 8k+.

With around 24k, or a bit more, one will get unlimited data plan with some minutes of calls in countries that have 5 times more minimum wage than us.

One can buy, let's say, 5GB of data from them and watch 2 hours of YouTube videos. The next thing is 500MB remaining. But if they gives you 1GB of data for YouTube midnight videos, you will watch 2 hours of video and still have 700MB remaining.

Ever wondered why?

Most of their data plans are below the declared value.

I think 1Terabyte on Airtel is around 100k, bro, that will get you unlimited data plan with free calls and text in several countries and you will still have a reasonable amount left.

Let's not even talk about the quality of services offered, down here we sometimes struggle to hear people clearly on whatsapp voice calls.
