Hope Uzodinma, the incumbent governor and flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is seeking a second term, making him the candidate to beat.

Uzodinma has relocated or closed the government institutions in the city, and took some to his village. Just one street reconstructed in the city among the dozens of dilapidated streets, was the only development of Uzodinma in Orlu in 4 years.
Uzodinma was a political boy of late Senator Arthur Nzeribe when irate youths in Orlu carried a mock coffin of Nzeribe along the streets of Orlu, as Nzeribe refused Orlu as capital of a proposed Njaba State in 2006.
This is the genesis of the fracas in Imo state which extended beyond the state.

I learnt from reliable source that a sit at home order was enforced to some parts of Orlu for four days including today to deliberately deny people to vote. This won't make news because it is an attempt to rig elections because Orlu has a large voting power.

Orlu is only bigger than Okigwe zone in voting power.

Hope Uzodinma is the cannibal-minded man who has been eating up human beings in Orlu zone. The violence here started a few weeks after Uzodinma was pronounced gov of Imo state.
He quartered soldiers on the streets and make his unknown gunmen exchange gunfires with soldiers. The gun men shout: relocate, Orlu is on fire. No soldier has been killed since three years Hope Uzodinma quartered soldiers in Orlu to cause devastation and dissertation of the city. Hope Uzodinma is revenging a treatment given by some young people in Orlu to his political mentor, Arthur Nzeribe about 17 years ago.
