On Monday, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced that it has finalized arrangements to conduct Computer-Based Examinations (CBE) for candidates taking its examination.

Moyosola Adesina, the acting Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, stated that the incorporation of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) will begin with the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2024 – First Series, scheduled for February 2024.

Here are 10 things to know about WAEC CBT

1. Exam Date: The Computer-Based Test for private candidates taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examination is scheduled to commence in February 2024.

Usually, the examination council conducts two exams each year. The first one takes place in May/June for school candidates in SS3 class attending recognized schools, followed by the October/November exam, the second one designed for private candidates. However, with this recent announcement, there has been a shift in the timetable for private candidates.
