Wordpress is rapidly becoming one of the most popular content management system tools online. WordPress is a stand-alone software that you can download for free and install to instantly create a web site.

You can create a website or blog and have an online presence for your business in a very short time.
Using wordpress is very easy and user-friendly; it will only take you a very short time to become proficient.
The first step you need to take if you are serious about learning wordpress is to install it on your computer. If you don’t have a computer, you must have a friend or relative who has one.
Wordpress software can be downloaded for free at http://wordpress.org/latest.zip
Download it.

You will also need to download Wampserver which is also a free software from http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php

Install the wampserver first on your computer and accept all default options.

After installing the wampserver, run it , on your taskbar, near the time in the bottom right corner of your desktop, you should see the wampserver semicircle button as shown below. This button shows that wampserver is successfully running.

Locate the wordpress file you downloaded and copy it into the www directory, (Double-Click on My Computer, Double-click on your LOCAL disk drive (C,Double-click on the wamp folder,Double-click on the www folder,COPY OR DRAG THE ZIPPED WORDPRESS FILE INTO THIS FOLDER.The graphic is shown below.

You will need to extract this file to use it, To extract the file you will need an extraction software like Winzip. Extract this file by right-clicking on it and the clicking on extract in the dialog that comes up.

Accept all default options and wait for the file to be completely extracted.

When the extraction is complete, open up the extracted folder that has just been created, cut the folder inside it (The default name of this folder is wordpress) and then click on the back button and paste the folder. You can then delete the previous folder so that only the wordpress folder exists in that location.

Open up the wordpress folder and locate the file "wp-config-sample". Rename this file to to "wp-config".

Yes for me wordpress is the best cms software for website design and development i have stick to wordpress in the last 16 months

After renaming the file, open it up with notepad.
Look for the text "database_name_here", Change it to your desired database name.
Look for the text "username_here ", Change it to your desired username.
Look for the text "password_here ", Change it to your desired password.

Make sure you write down these names in a safe place because you will still use them.

Save the file and Close it.

Launch the default browser used when installing Wamp Server Software

Type localhost in the location bar and press ENTER on your keyboard, the wamp server home page should load.
