That's fair enough as long as there's a juicy severance package for the 33 former employees.

They will get another job since they are in working countries. If it were Naija, their own is finished

Or do business in Nigeria, being finished is not an option. Let's not - because of politics- inadvertently groom ourselves to be like the rest of Africa, lazy brained, handout seekers.

Sharrap, what do you know?
is it because those countries don't post in refrence to general population but focuses solely on their citizens. In a country where the citizens are less than 30% of the population. Ask anyone living and working in the Middle East in the last 10 years, there has been job lost more than any where in the world in the last 1-2 years, the difference is, you can't protest, you can't go to the press. The few that are employed are being owed salaries for months. Google and see for yourself. Since your type that has never been to the airport before always think Nigeria is the worst country or econmical suffering nation of the world. Things are rapidly changing all over the world, sadly, the Nigerians abroad or in these places who needs money to relocate keep lying to the gullible ones everyday so that they can gather as much as possible and JAPA before the new victims will come in.

" The severance package includes 4 months’ salary, [accelerating equity vesting, extending health insurance by 3 months, and more."

Accelerated equity vesting? Damn! These employees had the juiciest contracts. With PayStack's increasing valuation, they are made.

Just divest into other interests.

Smart choice...abroad business must have been bleeding their cash with forex exchange rate ...stay local or convince your workers to relocate to Nigeria

It's disheartening to hear about the recent layoffs at Paystack in Dubai and Europe. Losing a job is never easy, and my thoughts go out to the affected employees during this challenging time.

I wonder about the reasons behind the decision and how it aligns with Paystack's overall strategy. Layoffs are often a tough but necessary step for companies facing financial challenges or restructuring. It would be helpful to have more context on the company's current situation and the specific factors that led to this decision.

Additionally, I hope that the affected employees receive the support they need as they navigate through this period of uncertainty. Job loss can be a significant setback, but it can also open up new opportunities for growth and resilience.

It's crucial for companies to prioritize transparency and communication during such transitions, ensuring that employees are well-informed and have access to resources for their next steps. As the situation unfolds, I'll be keen to see how Paystack addresses the aftermath and what measures they put in place to support both the remaining staff and those who have been let go.

Wishing everyone affected the best in their future endeavors.
