One of the panceas for Nigeria's political Kwashiokor is the conclusion of litigations concerning election outcomes before the inaugurations of declared winners by INEC. Before election winners are sworn in, all court proceedings concerning election outcomes must have been concluded. We can do this, it's not Rocket Science.

Also, candidates should be able to vie for elections independently without necessarily being sponsored by political parties. This will reduce corruption and desperation. The β€œMembers Only” Mafia mentality should be jettisoned.

Uniformed elections should be reintroduced. Off-season elections should be abolished. No more off-season elections like we have in Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi, Bayelsa, Edo as off-season elections negatively stir up our political atmosphere. Nigeria needs political stability.

Also, we should scrap our obsolete and wasteful bicameral legislature. All they do is feast on our resources. It's an open secret that our lawmakers are the highest paid in the whole wide world, yet they're not the best performing! The National Assembly should be abolished while the House of Representatives (Congress) should be maintained, inheriting the powers and duties of the abolished National Assembly. And the current size of the HOR should be maintained.

The illegal and unreasonable payments of Security Votes to State Governors should be totally abolished for good. These monies if needed at all should be allocated to security agencies who are primarily tasked with the maintenance of law and order, security of lives and property.

Security of lives and property is one of the major responsibilities of every functional government, for this to be achieved, the Federal Government should enter into an exclusive arms contract with a German or Russian arms company to deliver 2023 models of choppas, Rugers, Berettas and so on. All military officers should be made to submit their outdated and worn out rifleΕ‘ and pistolΕ‘, in exchange for new ones. Those old arms would be sent to the arms company for recycling.

And importantly, Nigerian Local Governments should be rescued from the chokehold of State Governors and empowered to function effectively, with their funds received directly from the Federal Government. A Federal Ministry which caters exclusively to Local Government affairs should be created. Unfortunately, State Governors have crippled Local Governments of Nigeria to the extent that they no longer have the capacity to make positive impacts. In advanced countries, leaders of Local Governments are referred to Mayors.

Lastly, a We-The-People functional constitution should be drafted. The current dud constitution imposed on us since 1999 is a fiasco and should be jettisoned. We the citizens of Nigeria should be involved in drafting the constitution we live by. This dysfunctional constitution is the root cause of our political Kwashiokor.

Nothing can change the fortune of Nigeria cos at the end of the day, it is still people like you that will reduce everything to tribal wahala and mockery..
Nairaland is full of your tribal hypocrisy, something that is innate to almost everyone in the country.. Yoruba is there today so you depend everything to the last the same way biharo was defended to the last and igbos will do the same if they have their own as the president.. So all this articles over nothing to appear as if Ina get sense can never change Nigeria cos you lots have destroyed the country with tribal hypocrisy and winners take it all syndrome..

Don't take him seriously, he probably didn't even write the piece himself. He just wants to make himself feel good with a write up that seems intellectual but in reality is a hollow jest of the Nigerian system he is benefitting from.
