JUST IN: Nigeria To Face Another Phase Of Naira Crisis As FG Reveal New Deadline For Old Note

The Federal Government has approached the Supreme Court seeking an extension of the validity of old naira notes beyond the current deadline of December 31, 2023.

In a fresh application filed before the Supreme court, the government cited the ongoing economic crisis and the need for further consultation with critical stakeholders as reasons for the extension request.

The government argued that the Supreme Court’s order of March 3, 2023, which extended the validity of old naira notes until December 31, was based on the assumption that sufficient new notes would be printed by the end of the year. However, due to the economic crisis, the government has been unable to print the required volume of new notes.

Try to learn or if possible research more it will help u to grow faster not everything is insulting people online, if u can remembered last December CBN ends the note it was only Supreme court judgement that overturn CBN decision, Supreme court has no business taking anyone to court rather is left for CBN to approach SP and present their reasons for SP to set their previous judgement aside and life continue

Assuming we were a society governed by rules and regulations and the law,the SC order would have been an issue and you would have seen the AGF running helter skelter to get the SC to sit and hear the merits of the case why it should quash it's order Dec 31st order.
But here what it takes is for business to go on as usual and at worse the AGF calls the chief justice to write an order vacating its previous order.
So no one should worry its head,whatever the government of Nigeria wants is what the judiciary will grant,even if it means one judge writing a judgement on paper and another on air
