Alot of innocent people are locked away for crimes they did not commit...
The only crime they commited was being a poor man in Nigeria...

Well said by the Minister.
Manna you are not the only one. This minister has engraved his name on the sands of history. And will be remembered for his peoples-oriented reforms. But most importantly, this news reminds me that no prayer is a waste. No prayer goes unanswered. I remembered that in 2018,2019; I took it upon my self to laboriously intercede for those in prisons but are innocent that God intervenes in their situation. Look at the answer staring me.

Yea right! grin so they know that the international community do not trust them. If they really wants trust they should start by sacking the corrupt politicians and police in power at the moment, they should also release all the innocent people in prison now, they should also release Mr Kanu.. and sort out the corrupt judiciary and sack corrupt judges. You can not have the same corrupt people in power yet wants them to make a change for better. It will never work!

Police collecting #5k - #10k before they answer you and execute their job is still a big problem that needs to be dealt with. What happen to a poor man/woman that has been bullied and robbed of the little he or she has and decided to go and report to the police that will ask him or her to pay 5k or 10k before they can respond to the issue. Things really need to be done because those police people have turned the station to a business center where the Accused and the accuser get to pay money

Lol you guys are looking for a grant or what? The UN is not going to tell you that you don't already know. You already know most of your inmates are awaiting trial. That means the bail conditions are either too stiff or the court process is too slow. The federal government can set up bail schedules for crimes. Lastly give time served to prisoners if the accept a guilty plea.

After 2025 the federal government should stop accepting inmates guilty of violating state laws. States should be building their own jails just like the do their own court houses.



On top of banning them from the Civil service they should spend time in prison. A good 5 years will scare these idiots straight. The risk to reward needs to deter then.

Prison Controllers do not have the authority to arrest people, unless they have been remanded or sentenced by a court.
