As the year draws to a close, various radiothons and fundraisers take center stage, with a significant focus on supporting patients and families associated with children's hospitals and organizations.

Atlanta's WALR "Kiss 104.1," under the banner of Cox Media Group urban AC, recently hosted its fifth annual "Turkey Giveaway" in collaboration with Publix grocery chain on November 18. The initiative provided 104 turkeys to families in underserved communities, further amplified by Mabra Law, which matched and doubled the turkey distribution.

Terri Avery, the Director of Branding and Programming, expressed, "Being live and local for WALR means serving our community. We are thankful for another successful year of aiding families in need."

The nationally syndicated "Steve Harvey Morning Show" from Premiere Networks has played a commendable role in the "14th Annual Turkey Give." Affiliates have been supplied with over 6,000 turkeys to distribute in their respective communities. Since its inception in 2009, the initiative has contributed over 100,000 turkeys to those in need. The show, featuring Steve Harvey and co-hosts like Shirley Strawberry, Nephew Tommy, Carla Ferrell, and Junior, is broadcasted on over 100 stations nationwide, including major markets such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

As the calendar year approaches its end, radiothons and fundraisers continue to make a positive impact. Cumulus Media's rock station "105.7 The X" in York, PA, raised an impressive sum exceeding $350,000 for the Children's Miracle Network in the Harrisburg-York-Lancaster area.
