Workshop lauds Soludo's ICT revolution as IXPN lands in Anambra

A workshop held in Awka , the Anambra State capital, has lauded the efforts of the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), predicting that the state would emerge Nigeria’s Silicon Valley in the near future.

The commendation followed the state's , adoption of ICT initiatives and its applications in almost all sectors of the state's economy.

The workshop acknowledged the giant strides recorded by the Soludo administration, particularly in its various initiatives in digital economy.


As a consequence , the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) has landed in the state to enhance the state's Internet ecosystem in Nigeria.


IXPN adventure is in collaboration with the Anambra State Government.

The workshop brought together various Internet service providers and higher educational institutions in the state, representatives from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the Anambra State ICT Agency.

The workshop outlined the role of an Internet Exchange Point, including the attraction of content providers, cost reduction, and improved connectivity.

It underscored the pivotal role of IXPN as a cornerstone for improving the Internet ecosystem in Anambra State.


The primary focus was to discuss the possibility, prospects, and benefits of establishing and connecting to an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in the state.

Speaking, Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, MD/CEO of Anambra ICT Agency, commended Governor Soludo's encouragement, commitment and enthusiasm in revolutionizing ICT knowledge and education-in the State.

Agbata emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in reducing internet traffic, saying those in the internet business must join hands with the government to make the establishment of an IXP in state a reality.


The CEO of IXPN, Rudman Muhammed, stressed the role of IXPN in keeping Nigerian internet traffic local and contributing to the country’s ICT ecosystem and the broader digital economy agenda.

He assured to assist participants to procure Autonomy system Number ( ASN), and encouraged them to synergize and form corperatves.
