President Bola has appointed Pius Akinyelure as the Non-Executive Board Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and also retained Mele Kyari as the organisation’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).

A Monday statement by Tinubu’s spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said the duo is part of the new board and management of the NNPCL.

Their appointment, which is in compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, takes effect from December 1, 2023, he said.

Northerners are watching, SE and SS are also watching. When the time comes, Northerners know whatever they do, SE and SS will not interfere. If Tinubuu was smart, he would have given SS more positions, even more than Yorubaa, because those will be your core support base. This what Asari Dokubo was trying to say in his last video, you need a strong support base to run this country, otherwise you won't last. GEJ had two strong support base in SS and SE. Buhari had core North as his support base which is big enough. Tinuubu now has only SW has his support, which is not enough if you are from the south, you need at least two, SW alone cannot help you. It's obvious SE can never support him even if he give them 200 billion because they vote on principle and stand by it, but SS he can buy given the oil, pipeline contracts and militant groups. Just my advice to him.
