JUST IN: GUNMEN ATTACK INEC REC IN KOGI.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says gunmen have attacked the residence of its Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The commission in a communique made available to Channels Television, said the attack happened around 3:30 am today, Friday, December 1, 2023.

It noted that the armed men engaged security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes until reinforcement arrived.

“While no lives were lost, property was destroyed in the ensuing gun battle. A team of combined security personnel have been deployed to protect the residence. This incident occurred a day after a mob besieged our state office,” the statement added.

The commission called for a thorough investigation and enhanced security protection for its personnel and assets in Kogi State.

It is expected. I warned few days ago that if INEC continue to rigged election against opposition, the aggrieved politicians may declare war against INEC staff.

Even though INEC is one of the problems of Nigeria,, there are many other problems too..

We just need to identify all of them and what problems they are causing.

THEN,, FIND THE ROOTS OF WHERE THERE PROBLEMS LIE..

And start tackling them by the roots of all their problems.

there is a difference btw attacking him and his residence.
What the heading of this thread is implying is that the INEC Rec was attacked in his residence,meaning he was there.
But the body of the story is telling a different tale,that the residence was indeed attacked,but the INEC Rec was clearly not around,so the object of the attack was to send a message,they were not clearly after the lives of the INEC or indeed anyone else in that residence.
