Most Church work are voluntary, so they are not paid for.
But where there are no volunteers, they source & pay for such services.

Depends on what you mean by church worker. If you mean those that work full time within the church's organisation then yeah they are paid but if you are talking about those who volunteer their time to do various things in the church premises then no they are not paid. However like some people pointed out instrumentalists do sometimes get paid, AFAIK it's professionally instrumentalists that get paid, not the volunteer ones.
