Rivers Crisis: Rivers Lawmakers Loyal to Wike Defect to APC

Over 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Hon. Martin Amaewhule have reportedly defected to the All Progressives Congress from the People's Democratic Party.

Sources say the defection is not unconnected to the feud between the state governor, Sim Fubara and his predecessor, the FCT Minister - Nyesom Wike.

Recall that the Assembly members had attempted to impeach the governor. An act which led to the burning of the state Assembly quarters.
