The idea of a national grid in a disunited country whose constitution was written at gun point(dictatorial regime of abacha) is bound to fail. Let's give room for smaller grids. Allow states generate and transmit within their boundaries to break chains of this strife that's leading to destructive politics. Look at how NNPCL is building pipelines and plants in the north without issues. If that was a nationwide project, I doubt it would have succeeded. The north will say we hold all the cards and should develop at the expensive of the south. The south will say, we fund the country in retaliation and a crippling struggle will be triggered. That's not the case in Hausa-nized NNPCL and so they are able to build plants but not refineries. |
