The Barcelona player maintained her dominance in African women’s football as she was named the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year at the ceremony held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. Asisat Oshoala won the award in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 and after defeating Barbara Banda of Zambia and Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa she just bagged her sixth to help solidify her name the more in the continent’s women’s football.
