400km of roads, flyover bridges, construction of New government house and lodge, ongoing industrial parks, onging Solution Fun City, declared free education in public schools and free healthcare for pregnant women, employed 8,000 teachers and 2000 medical workers, building two specialist hospitals in Okpoko and Fegge and so many others above all didn't borrow one Kobo to fund his budget

You mean Soludo built 400km of road in one year.

You are an irredeemable liar. The resr of what you said is just nonsense, which state no get free education in public schools before?

I thought when Buhari was borrowing for rail line, all of you condemned him that Nigeria is borrowing too much to the extent that Peter Obi even claimed infrastructure cannot help the economy.

So what suddenly change during Otti period?

—If Peter Obi ideology is “No borrowing” and most Obedient support it.

—Otti ideology is mass borrowing and most obedient support him.

What exactly is the Obedient ideology? To borrow or not to borrow?
He is basically going against Peter Obi's ideology. Lol

I think when you try to argue please do it from an intellectual standpoint. Buhari depleted our foreign reserves and left us with a debt of almost 50trillion as at 2022FY. THE QUESTION IS WHAT MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE DO WE HAVE TO SHOW FOR THE MASSIVE DEBT HE INCURRED? Was Education upgraded? Was health upgraded? How many federal roads were completed in the 8 years?
That's the difference.

Otti hit the ground running. Since assuming office, he has made giant strides in digitising collections in the civil service meaning less corruption and greater accountability, he has revamped the teaching hospital, he has got rid of the massive dirt in Aba, he has turned the entire state into one massive construction site with so many road repairs underway not with mushroom contractors o! Using Julius Berger!!! So why won't the people of Abia be happy?

Now he wants to consolidate by earmarking 84% to capital which will in turn open up the state to more commerce and investment making the people more prosperous. This will in turn naturally lead to more IGR.

p.s. unlike some states where you have uniformed and non uniformed Agberos, ticketing for commercial operators in Abia is done electronically and is working seamlessly! So why won't the people be happy?

The ideology is simple. PO has stated it a good number of times.

There is nothing wrong with borrowing. But we would not borrow to find recurrent expenditure.

Secondly, there is a need for frugality in the use of public resources.

Those expenditures should be such as to improve production and/or HDI.

Don't mind those olodos.... Peter Obi clearly advocated against borrowing against recurrent and wasteful spending in government. Trust these APC propagandists to twist the narrative.

His people don’t care about their homeland and what goes on in there.

The lack of public scrutiny for our governors will make these people finish their respective states while majority of the people will be shouting president this and that.

Don’t be a dummy, read the body of the news you post.

Dapo even cancelled the #3500 PTA fees and NANS are just saying he should reinstate the fees.

Read the body of the news you shared and see how ignorant you sound.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State chapter, has told Governor Dapo Abiodun that his claim of free education was not real, asking him to allow the payment of Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) levies in public schools within the State.

DAILY POST recalls that Gov Abiodun had in 2019 said he was committed to running free education in all public schools in Ogun, stopping the payment of N3,700 which he had earlier approved as PTA donation to schools.

But NANS disagrees with Abiodun, stressing that what the present dispensation is masquerading under mere abolition of PTA levies did not equate free education.

According to a statement signed by the spokesperson of NANS in Ogun, Olufemi Owoeye, it was stated in clear terms that “cancellation of fees alone is not commensurate to free education.”

Owoeye said “NANS Ogun JCC is against the ban placed on payment of dues” and the fact that such is being likened to free education in the State.

Olodo oya let me school you....

Do you know how many major markets are in ABA alone? Google 'Ariaria market' and learn a thing or two. ABA has always been a commercial town historically servicing not just the entire SE and SS regions but the whole West Africa. We have heard of shoes and clothes of international quantity made in Aba. Even with the bad roads, people from outside Abia troop in daily to their markets to shop. How much more now? Today you have Akpabio, Wike and Umahi in prominent roles in the APC administration. Go and read what they did in terms of infrastructural development for their respective states!

Over the last 24 years (with little or no infrastructure and plenty of leakages in tax collection and financial misappropriation) they have been able to generate the funds you refer to because majority of the traders refused to pay due to lack of trust for their useless governments in the past. With the massive upgrades which they have prayed for now taking place, you can be sure that IGR will increase 10 times over as trade multiplies due to more conducive business environment. Not only that, new businesses will spring up and massive investment will flow into the state as savvy businessmen take advantage of the new Abia. Real estate would also skyrocket as property values will go up as roads and other facilities are provided. Also Abians home and abroad hearing the good news will also be happy to send dollars back home to aid the development effort!

Oga sir, please try to show you went to school.

In Public finance, there is budget surplus and deficit.

That Obi did not borrow does not mean he is against borrowing. He was able to identify leakages in his government which freed up sufficient funds for his projects! That is why he is against wasteful govt spending like sending 422 people to COP 28! He also has kicked against borrowing to finance recurrent expenditure which is what the Buhari government was doing! Even the loans they took for Capex, how much of the funds were used justly with tons of uncompleted projects littered everywhere and massive debt accrued with little or nothing to show for it!

If there is need for a business to borrow to expand then they go to the bank and take a loan. This is how banks make money to start with! Otti is just doing the same thing, borrowing to make a significant impact in the shortest time possible in resolving the infrastructure deficit of the state!

And guess what? Everyone in Abia state and well meaning Nigerians are happy with the Otti administration. If other states likewise take governance as seriously as he is doing, Nigeria will take giant strides in development with or without the support of the FG.

Abia state need that huge investment to stimulate economic development and growth. The state has been under bad governance and economic decadence since 1999 so it's only wise to declare a state of emergency on infrastructure and open up the state for growth and development.

At d end of the day, they are inflated projects, poorly executed contracts etc.

So technically, he is still spending as much as Ikpeazu on recurrent expenditure. He just use some mind game in his unrealistic budget.

How can you fund your budget with 400 billion loan which is like over 70% of your total revenue in a year?
You lifted this silly comment from a dunce on Twitter and dropped it here word for word. You are a bigger one.
