Labour Party drops petition against Fubara
The Labour Party (LP) has dropped its petition against the election of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 governorship election.

Its governorship candidate Beatrice Itubo also pledged to support Fubara’s government for the progress of Rivers State.

Recall that the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, had earlier rejected the petition brought forward by Beatrice Itubo, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers.

The petition challenged the victory of Fubara in the March 18 governorship election.

Fubara won the state governorship election with 302,614 votes, defeating Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 95,274 votes.

The tribunal’s decision comes after a petition was filed by the LP and APC candidates, contesting Fubara’s victory.

Following the adoption of final written addresses and arguments from all parties, the tribunal, led by Justice Cletus Emifonye, ruled on Monday, dismissing the Labour Party’s petition on grounds of lacking merit and failure to substantiate the allegations.

Labor party has lost it since they were infiltrated by the tickets hunters.

You claimed the election was rigged, you have the court to seek redress but chicken out because the supposed winner is quarrelling with his godfather.

The other one is in abia state borrowing more than 400 billion naira at a go.

It has never happened before in Nigeria that a very poor state like abia will go into debt of 400 billion naira in a year.

Add the figure to the debt on ground and see how their future is being morgaged but Tinubu GCFR and Yoruba will be their problem but take the earliest night bus to Lagos in search of greener pastures after helping to install an anti people government in their region.

I thought the only achievement of Obi was the money he saved and the claim he never borrow a dime, you guys were agog with that all through the electioneering period, will you now call out otti for going against the party's manifesto abi the party no get am?

Then she has nothing to offer the state in the first instance if the reason for running is to be compensated.

Most likely that is why Obi ran too.

But shishi, we no go give am.

That's up to LP and those who sponsored their ticket. We must begin to look beyond party and focus on the substance of the individual.

Very weird take.

Last it was checked, Abia is one of the states with the least multidimensional poor people. And while you're at the debt table, are you aware that Lagos, the crown jewel of Nigeria, is actually sitting on a total debt stock of 2 trillion naira, which is about 30 times the total debt stock of Abia State.

That's for the pride of Africa. Maybe you should keep off this discussion.

That's I don't any LP voice supporting Fubara and condemning Wike seriously. They actually hate Wike for making them to lose in Rivers, so it's time to get back at him.

They're not honest about their support for Fubara.

You look at the potential of both states to pay back, Lagos is in a better position. What's the IGR of Abia?

Isn't that the whole point? The state's debt rises higher than the IGR. Which begs the question, what does the IGR actually do? Are they just doctored numbers, which would more likely explain why the former is so. Only once had the state's debt actually dropped since 1999, which was under Ambode. Since then, phew! Which is the same for the average Nigerian states actually. So, what's the difference?
