Renewable energy is good in Nigeria but with a government that lacks accountability this project is doomed to fail especially due to corruption.

Rural area projects are mostly abandoned or highly mismanaged to result in nothing tangible.

Look at it like this, You live in a 3 bedroom bungalow worth 2m naira and drive a car worth 1.3m naira but have a business that is worth over 300 million naira and savings worth over 100 million naira,

then you have a friend who rents a mansion for 5m yearly, does not have a business, has only been selling his family land inheritance, but drives a car worth 150m, and has no savings at all.

Anytime he doesn't have land to sell he comes to you to take loan, refuses to cut down his lavish lifestyle and is not ready to invest, he takes most of the loans for consumption hoping to sell one of his family land in future to repay you back each time.

That is the difference between most African leaders and most European leaders.

Tinubu will travel with presidential jet with more than 150 aides and entourage, then lodge in the most expensive hotel, then use Mercedes Maybach to visit a prime minister who is riding bicycle to work without escort for loan, you don't need to wonder why the loan will not work for the purpose it was given...

You see this apt analogy you just made?? Those oloriburiku agbadorians miscreants will still not understand it... They prefer to live in denial.....

On the other, the other thread by world Bank reported that the conditional transfer promised by the FGN has been paid yet and they still wanna give this FGN $750m??

Can someone explain to me why these orgs; IMF, World Bank et al keeps giving us loans when they know our leaders would still loot and nothing to show for it

It's as if they want to keep us in perpetual debt bondage!!

Exactly.
I saw the German president when he recently visited Nigeria. I was shocked at the lean entourage. He stayed at the continental hotel. No funfare, his few security details, seemingly from their local embassy. Even when he visited the newly renovated cultural center opposite matinal muson center, just a 3 car convoy. He rode in 1 suv and then 2 others from the German high commission. The state deputy governor (his host) had more entourage than the whole Chancellor of Germany had.
Imagine the leader of one of the 5 largest economies in the world. So simple, I stood few meters from him and could have walked up to him for a selfie if I so wished.
Imagine what the Nigerian entourage would be if the reverse is the case.

And the people handling the old ones should be removed and given to better technocrats who can handle it better since those people can't manage and improve it.

I don't understand the World Bank granting of this Facility!
- to whom was it Specifically granted?
- What is the backgrounds performance, for what we have been seeing is monumental Frauds in the issues of Power Sector?
- when will this Facility be repaid back?
- When will the Masses in Nigeria feel the impacts of Constant Power and Lights?
I think the World Bank should explain to the Ordinary Nigerians, how this Dollars-Fund will benefit us, except there is a collabo between the World Bank Agents and the Locals at home!
