Having gone through the resolutions reached at the meeting, I believe it creates a part to peace, but only if both parties keep to the resolutions reached and implement them. Armchair and keyboard warriors should let peace reign. The peaceful way to resolve this crisis is politically as the president has done.

Emperor Tinub has spoken.
The lord of the riverlands has been subjugated by the hitherto exiled former and Wiked lord of riverlands.
The ruling of the judge council ordering a fresh constitution of laws council has been rendered useless.
Emperor Tinub and the Wiked lord are fully in charge of the riverlands now.
People of riverlands, I envy you not.

I never know that this governor is so foolish like this. This is a political suicide.
The Wike I know doesn't forgive, I can bet with my life that Wike will still come after the government to impeah him or deny him second term.
The only language people like Wike understand is force, power.
Fubara you are too dumb for my likings.

Hmm.

The questions remain:
How will it work?
Does this so called “directive” supercede the constitution? As it stands, Edison Ehie is recognized as the speaker.
Publicly 27 members decamped to APC from PDP and by that have lost their seats.
How has the name of Amewhule returned, when he has lost his seat by law?
What will happen to the commissioners who of their own volition resigned?
So the 5 men who are recognized should suddenly give up their positions just like that?
INEC should simply tear the notice of vacant seats from the house or ignore it?
The budget has been signed. How can it be presented again?
The commissioners who resigned should just get back to their offices without screening again?

Please these are the issues. Is it not that this so called directive is set to further cause problems in the state? Is it so simple as that to withdraw the cases from court?
What if PDP at the national level insist that the 27 are no longer with them?

Maybe we should keep watching events as they unfold.

By the way, thank God that all went well with Nairaland and they can keep growing.

Which section of d law gives u or any other person d power to declare d seat of any defected elected officer vacant? For d avoidance of doubt, it's d duty of d Court of law to interpret d law n no other.

Who's Edison Ehie? Who elected him speaker? Do u know what's called quorum? What's two third of 32? When Ehie and others sat and took decisions for themselves, did they form quorum? U better go back to d kindergarten and get proper education.

Kindergarten? Proper education? Your likes make leaders abuse the citizens and make keep you followers under subjugation.

“ Section 109. (1) (g) of the Nigeria constitution clearly states that ‘A member of a House of Assembly shall vacate his seat in the House if being a person whose election to the House of Assembly was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which that House was elected.’

The above provision of the constitution is very clear about the fate that must befall on those legislators who betrayed the party that sponsored them”.

in 2022, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja sacked 16 Ebonyi House of Assembly members for defection. The court held that the movement was in breach of Section 109(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution as amended which provides that defector legislators are not allowed to retain their seats in the legislature.

The same happened to 18 members of the Cross River House of Assembly and 2 members of the House of Representatives who were asked to vacate their seats for defecting from their party.

A member of the Labour Party representing Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency in 2012 defected to another party. This case lingered until the Supreme Court in 2022 ordered him to immediately vacate the seat following his defection from the party. The Court’s unanimous judgement held that the lawmaker who decamped from the Labour Party to another party was constitutionally unfit to retain his seat as a federal lawmaker in the federal House of Representatives.

A High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on a few days ago confirmed Edison Ehie as the authentic and recognized Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly. Justice M.W. Danagogo, who gave the ruling, ordered Martins Amaewhule and Dumle Maol to stop parading themselves as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Uncle, please take you time to read and not get uncontrollably ignorant.

So courts n constitution has been suspended. The law is clear. U cannot change party while holding a seat...it has to be vacated immediately. Tinubu after suspending our constitution has started acting like law .

Ehie was also suspended by the house before the members decamped.

It is meaningless, I presume. Martin Amaewhule suspended Edison Ehie on the accusation of orchestrating the burning of the state assembly. Ehie formed a parallel faction and suspended Amaewhule.
However the court recognized the leadership and faction of Ehie. The case still is in court.

In all, a very big issue is the decamping of Amaewhule. It not in tandem with the constitution.

BRAIN WORK. It will be the foundation for Fubara's removal if he renege's on this resolution. By this showmanship, Tinubu and Wike has reduced the number of supporters in Fubara's camp.

U see how stewpid n senseless u r? Did u read d rider of section 109(1)(g)? Or u just read part of d sub paragraph (g) and abandoned d rider? For d avoidance of doubts d rider provides "....provided that his membership of d latter political party is not as a result of a DIVISION in d political party of which he was previously a member.... or factions by one of which he was previously sponsored ". After reading this, ask urself, what was d reason d members of d house of assembly members gave for their defection? DIVISION.

When u kept on mentioning a federal High Court in Abj sacked 16 Ebonyi State house members in 2022 as well as cross river state, i know that i was right referring u back to d kindergarten. What do u understand by starie decises? What do u understand by hierarchy of courts? What was d final decision of d appeal court on d matters under reference?

Ur warped understanding of how d law operates, had put u in this mess and i think it's proper if u do urself a favour, go back to d kindergarten.

Your foolishness is endless and unmatchable. Once again people like you give room for the irresponsible leadership and endless hardship prevailing in the country. How you see black and call it white is unbelievable.

Where is the division within PDP Rivers State? Between PDP and APC, which of them have suffered divisions severally in the last six years? What is the primary reason APC lost the governorship election in 2019? Have you not taken your time, that is if you read properly, to see the reasons adduced by the 27 for decamping? Does your blindness not permit you to see that division was just diversionary? Where is the division?

If we go by judicial precedence, what is the final pronouncement of the Supreme Court in the matters quoted, Mr. Starie Decisis, in the issue of legislators decamping to other parties, leaving the parties that sponsored them? Was there an upside down interpretation of that section by the Supreme court?

People like you can only bamboozle and fool your likes with your poor understanding of simple English.

Get people around you who have better understanding of English to read and interpret that section of the constitution to you. Even a kindergarten child has more clarity than you.
